Such odd, anxious times. (Also, it's pollen season, oh boy. And unseasonably hot.)

Short takes:

1) I do not particularly enjoy working from home, but I'm managing. Except now I have to figure out Zoom, apparently.

2) Yesterday afternoon I did the global rewatch of "Day of the Doctor" via Twitter, with Steven Moffat returning to the platform to basically do a DVD commentary as people watched. Firstly, I understand why others dislike him, but Moffat's my guy. Secondly, damn that's a great hour and fifteen minutes of television.

3) Rereading the first two Chalion books by Lois McMaster Bujold has been comforting.Ish.

4) Two quick drabbles from the drabble-call! For Misbegotten, Hardy/Miller; for ALH, River/Twelve.

"Miller!" The bellow came from the study.

Ellie repressed a grin. Hardy had been stuck into their case files since the afternoon and now he must be stuck in earnest. Needed a new set of eyes.

Leaving the kids in the lounge, she went back to her and Hardy's study. There he was, messy hair, glasses, a sodding office shirt even on Sunday, files everywhere.

"There you are, Miller," he said crossly.

Hardy had no patience for minor inconveniences, she thought, but he'd waited for her for years. Patience when it counted.

"You stupid sod." She kissed him in thanks.

And

"I don't believe in magic," the Doctor said in Scottish disdain.

River tossed her wild hair back. "Don't you? Even when faced with a sorcerer keeping us hostage?" She gestured at their wicker prison.

The Doctor thought briefly that he wished the bloody sonic could work organic matter. He thought more deeply about how his wife had inveigled him out of their Darillium idyll on a brief adventure away. He thought still more deeply how much he loved her.

He had relearned his relationship to time, thanks to her.

"I believe in some magic, River," he said softly. "Mostly yours."

.... A Mycroft ficlet will come later this week.

Hugs to all, and may we find patience and ease in these days.
