6 Things on the 6th, Post #7

1) I made it through a v.v. rainy 5K on Saturday. It was a slog in all senses, but I (narrowly) beat my time from last year. Whooo.
2) Bad weather may be blowing through overnight tonight, which in advance is giving me sinus pain and a sore throat. Whee.
3) Just packed a box to send to ThredUp. I donate, rather than sell on consignment: Feeding America is my charity of choice. (If you're in the market for cute leopard-print sneakers in US size 6 and a half, they should be available in a few weeks. :))
4) Knitting: almost done with a nice wool scarf (two yarns knit together: a bright pink from a Nebraska spinner, and a multi-color Manos de Uruguay). I am not good at knitting, but I do find it calming. Am now considering trying to crochet.
5) As you know, I am a TW Hiddleston fangirl, despite not really being into Loki. (Love Thor: Ragnarok to bits, though.) Anyway, I am super-looking forward to this project: a political thriller for Netflix. Honey, yes.

I feel like knitting is something I should do because that's my moms hobby of choice. But I need to concentrate on it way too much to be fun or relaxing.

Glad you made it through the 5K, hopefully next year will be better weather.

Knitting for me (because I'm not doing anything fancy with patterns, because I am bad at it) is really soothing repetitive motion. I hear crochet is even better. :)

I used to knit quite a bit but when I gave it another go recently I discovered I held the needles at precisely the wrong place for me to focus on them properly. I must try again.

It's a soothing pastime indeed if one can turn off one's competitiveness, which amazingly I can. (I think it's the only time I can say that!) :)

Good on you with the 5K! The knitting sounds very pretty, I'd love to see it. I find that crochet is faster, at least with the finer lacework stuff, but they're both fun. Something else I want to get back into...

I can only do basic knitting right now, but my cousin-in-law (who owns a yarn shop) sells such pretty yarn that it's a pleasure. I just ordered two kits for coasters and a shawl. :)
