Birthday Again, Post #35

It's been a while since I did a wrap-up of my year on my birthday, and... looking at my year, perhaps I should continue to refrain.
On the one hand, the year has been, er, Not Good. I've been struggling with grief, stacks of work (some left undone, alas), failure, exhaustion, and underlying terror at the state of the world. Twelve months have seemed like twelve years.
On the other hand, it was a year which saw the end of important home renovations, a rebuilding and rethinking of space inside and out, which gives me joy every time I pass through the new and enhances my life. It was a year of long-anticipated travel: Bermuda at last, sky and sea and cool people, to which I'll return; Cornwall at longer last, and walking along the Coastal Path, more sea and sky and cool people; London last December and after Cornwall in the summer, always my city. While I didn't have time with all my friends, what with shifting lives and places, I cherish the time with friends I had.
So, onward. We persevere.
And because I needed comfort, last night I wrote and posted a Mycroft/Anthea established-relationship fic, "Free Passage". 1400 words. Anthea returns home to Mycroft after a work trip to Washington, with bonus Sherlock.
Hugs to all, and days of light and joy.
