Hiya, it's the World Cup and I'm about to go on holiday and also I am drowning in work and house stuff, so let's do something silly.
Here are some of my Fiercely Held but Not Really Important Opinions (in the grand scheme of things), ie. this probably doesn't matter but I CARE ABOUT IT:
*William Shakespeare is a million times more interesting than Christopher Marlowe.
*William Shakespeare is the man from Stratford, please just accept it.
*I find that a photograph of a man in a beautiful well-fitted suit, esp with his tie loosened is more, um, arousing than a photograph of a naked man. (Because I can imagine the naked.)
*Summer clothes should be made out of breathable material.
*Angel on Buffy was deeply annoying. Angel on Angel the Series was fine. (Thanks, David Greenwalt, whatever happened to you....EDITED TO ADD: Apparently he was showrunner for Grimm. That makes sense.)
*Spike over Angel, though, always.
*UGH, Xander. I get why other people like the character, and I feel bad for Nick Brendon, but UGH.
*Tony Head has had a *great* career post-Buffy, and that needs to be acknowledged more.
*I cannot continue reading Deborah Harkness's All Souls Trilogy, because I got to the second book and there was bullshit about Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare.
What's one of your Fiercely Held but Not Really Important Opinions? Cheers!

Date: 2018-07-04 06:31 pm (UTC)There was a photo of Damien Lewis I saw once (alas, long-lost) - all dressed up in a nice suit, curled up casually on the floor, barefoot. Talk about sexy. Also, I find a man holding a small baby or a cat incredibly sexy - it's something about the combination of strength and gentleness.
One of my fiercely held opinions, hmmm. Good tea in a teabag is still good tea (and much safer first thing in the morning).

These opinions are Not Important, but are surprisingly controversial.

Date: 2018-07-05 11:29 am (UTC)I would add that a perfect English summer day is a thing of joy but in moderation. Any temperatures above the mid 20s/70s are not a thing of joy (particularly when you are having to do a massive amount of house clearing for a boiler replacement, she says bitterly).
I’m really not keen on tattoos.
A fine English Cheddar from Somerset is the best cheese there is.
Have a lovely holiday.

Date: 2018-07-05 03:23 pm (UTC)I find the "mystery" around Shakespeare interesting, mostly because of how polarizing it is. On the subject I have no real opinion.
