Day After Birthday, Post #53

Yesterday was my birthday, and as you might have noticed, I didn't get any ficcing done.

This has been an odd year for me, in that I have felt buffeted by waves of awfulness at regular intervals, from work to the decline and loss of my dad to work again, and the resulting exhaustion has played merry hell with my creative impulse. At the moment, however, I'm spending what creative energy I have on an original-writing project, so, alas, no fic.

I had a nice, quiet day yesterday. Overnight storms rolled through on the crest of a cold front, and so my 3-mile morning walk was in grey misty cold. (It was great.) I opened presents, had a deep-tissue massage that was fairly intense, and then went out for a casual dinner with friends. A good birthday.

London's next, and then waiting for the new year, hoping for fewer waves of awful.

I didn't realize you lost your dad - I am so sorry. I still miss mine, and it's been decades. Plus, I missed your birthday. I think as we get older, birthdays can be a pain rather than an occasion of joy.

I will happily read one of your fics. Your Investigations and Acquisitions fic are the gold standard of Giles\Anya.
