Whew, I'm ready for some good news. I don't have any, but I'm ready for it.

Okay, no, here's a brief list of things I am grateful for today:
*Miss Adventure has almost conquered the Down command.
*Highgrove Organic Earl Grey tea was my iced tea of choice.
*Only sore a little bit from yesterday's KILLER workout class, led by my fave instructor who's only a month out from giving birth.
*Ginger Snaps.
*A rare, gorgeous morning with little humidity, which is unheard of in June.
*The employment protection offered to U.S. LGBTQ folk in Monday's Supreme Court ruling -- which applies to friends and family alike.

But otherwise, this year is ripe for rebooting. Let's start now!

[looks at emails, calendar, list of tasks]

Maybe after a nap?

Two three-sentence fics on the subject of starting again:

It's not that starting over is all that hard, Anya thinks -- after all, she's done it enough, renamed herself, rebranded, figured out a new mission statement.

It's the living up to the new that makes a woman tired sometimes.

But then, she looks at her Rupert, her David, her Tariq, her Andrew and her Dawn, she looks at Investigations and Acquisitions, and she thinks, it's worth it.

"I've started the new novel again," Harriet announces -- which Peter with his customary acuity has already deduced from the stack of pages being carried away by Harriet's secretary.

But it's more politic not to demonstrate detecting at the moment, so he merely says, "Yes, Harriet?" as he pulls her onto his lap.

Her fine eyes glitter, but then she laughs, and says as she puts her head on his shoulder, "Yes, Peter, I've grown accustomed to starting again."

Happy middle of the week!
