8 Things on the 8th, Post #11
Apr. 8th, 2019 09:24 am1) I am not ready for subtropical summer. [weeps]
2) Thanks to Pollen attacking me, I only got 5 hours of sleep last night.
3) Ugh.
4) I really enjoyed the most recent C.S. Harris novel of Sebastian St Cyr et al solving murders in Regency London, and I really enjoyed the most recent Deanna Raybourn novel of Veronica Speedwell and Stoker solving a murder in Cornwall. The Harris is really v. serious; the Raybourn is delicious, with cunning nods to the Gothic and the Veronica/Stoker relationship moving forward. Also, Tiberius, mmmm.
5) Tonight is the season finale of Home Town, the design/renovation show with Erin and Ben Napier. I find the show really so soothing, and Erin pays more attention to her clients' taste. One of my favourite moments this season: renovating a dilapidated workers' house on the site of an old dairy, and finding perfect 1940s glass milk jugs in an old, crumbling shed on the property; using the jugs for flowers. While I am not a fan of "country" decorating, I love re-purposing items like that.
6) Master Danger has been slowing down in a marked manner on our morning walks, occasioning comment from passersby. They don't get to see him galloping around the backyard in the late afternoons. Sigh.
7) I have a framed poster of Betrayal now hung right next to my desk. As one does. It makes me so happy.
8) Happy week ahead to all!
