I've only read six or seven of the thirteen?fourteen? Dalgliesh books, so I'm not particularly invested in book canon; I like the novels, and I really like Emma Lavenham, but it's just not a thing in this particular adaptation. Hence, Miskin/Dalgliesh fic. :)
