Heat, Post #27

It's far, far too hot.

It's hot here in the subtropics (just, unbelievably awful), and I see that it's horribly hot in London as well. So -- for this hot day, and for [personal profile] kathyh's birthday, a quick Investigations and Acquisitions drabble, set right now in this cursed year of 2020 --

"It's too hot," Anya said, dropping gracefully into the garden seat next to Giles.

He didn't answer. (It was, in fact, too hot, and he'd fled his first-floor study for this shady spot in their Islington garden.) But he put his hand out for Anya's, and when she gave it to him, he kissed her wrist.

"Honey," she said softly, "you almost make this hideous heat bearable. I should have had you with me in the Dsia dimension, like noon in Death Valley during its cool weather."

"No, you shouldn't have, that sounds bloody horrible. But I'm here now, darling."

May there be ice, may there be cooler breezes and maybe some rain on the way, may we get through this.

Here's hoping for cooler weather and lovely breezes.

Oh, how lovely of you. A perfect drabble for this really excessively hot weather.

Luckily for us it is going to start cooling down tomorrow so I shall drink a glass of fizz tonight and think cooling thoughts.

Hope you have cooler breezes and some rain soon too.

Many, many hugs and thanks for the birthday drabble :)

Ice and cooler breezes, yes please...We’re unlikely to see much rain again before the fall. Mid-90s here today even halfway up the mountain.

Thank you for the delicious drabble...it made me feel cooler, somehow.

I've been reading the news about your dust storm - it sounds awful, but it may also reduce the strength of this year's hurricane season. I hope everybody comes through safely.

The weather's been fairly mild here lately. I wish I could send you some of it!

It's been pleasant here, warm days and a shower to cool it down a bit at night. As much as I love the heat, I think it's a better vacation thing than every day thing.

I love the two of them, they way you portray them.

When I say "Investigations and Acquisitions, set right now in this cursed year," I imagined there would be a proper solution to 2020.

They handle apocalypses, don't they?
