Oh my God this week this week I am basically one long internal scream at this point.

So let's think about other things, in the 10 minutes before I have to cut a bitch go back to work:

*The Grey Fox spends time in a Jaguar. Pls enjoy the lovely lovely images.

*I am wearing new Adidas sneakers today, because I honestly cannot. I have lost the will to can.

*This morning, in lieu of workout, I planted a gardenia in a big ol' whiskey-barrel and then dug a bed and planted two salvias and two... other plants whose names I've forgotten. Ouch. Perhaps I will revisit my idea of making a stone pathway...

*I am happy that I never fly United Airlines, but my God, how can anyone defend the airline? (I've actually seen that, and it appalls me.)

*Current book: The Price of Illusion, by former French Vogue editor Joan Juliet Buck, who now in her 60s is returning to her first loves of acting and writing. Beautifully written so far but somehow disturbing.

*Just finished book: Wait for Me!, by the late Deborah Duchess of Devonshire. Discursive, disorderly, delightful with a poignant moment or two.

*I wish I had time to write more on my current project, but argh.

What's a cool thing on your list today? Hugs!

Cool thing on my list today is getting to the end of the list! Happy to be here at noon, getting ready to go work on the endless novel, but currently playing with the internets.

The Jaguar images are beautiful! And the man, too. But I've had a Jaguar, and just saying that you really need to be ready for major electrical problems...also, sadly, United is the only non-stop between here and Chicago, a flight I make a lot, sometimes with a cat. So I have a LOT of United miles. Have to think about this whole situation. Definitely they deserve a boycott.

I am cranky today, but this cup of butterscotch toffee flavored coffee I'm drinking is delicious.

Also, I've been enjoying Jane Bowles's novel Two Serious Ladies, which I've owned for decades and finally got around to taking off my shelf.

When I saw that United film clip I couldn't believe it was real.

A cool thing on my list is watching yesterday's Broadchurch on our TiVo today (we have complicated viewing habits) and drooling over David Tennant in glasses. A very pleasurable sight :)

I love the pocket square.

I thought I'd read Wait for Me!, back some years ago when I had a Mitford fit, but apparently not. I'll have to fix that.

I'm reading the first Veronica Speedwell, so I can read the second one. Very Amelia Peabody.

Sometimes you just have to wear sneakers, I try to get away with it, but I need some nicer looking ones :)

Cool thing on my list? Only have to finish up todays full calendar and then 4 days off. Which is nice.

Cool thing on my list? It's Holy Week, so a Taizé service tonight at church. Sung prayers, meditation, readings, all done by candlelight. I knit during them because in that environment, it feels as if I'm knitting up the fabric of the universe. Or as Father G. puts it, "You're saying your rosary with yarn."

Great chance to breath.

Hmmm...well, governor Jerry has declared the drought ended, except for the 4 driest counties in the state, so hooray for that! Just to underline that, it is raining again today with more on the way for the weekend.

Hugs of the virtual non-contagious variety!

That whole United debacle is absolutely unreal, including the CEO's handling of the situation. I will NEVER fly that airline again; even if they offered the best deals, it would be a false economy to deal with a company with such complete and utter contempt for its customers.

Having a new laptop that's 1.5 pounds lighter is a HUGE deal! I'm not even taking my laptop on my upcoming trip, just my 8.4" tablet (298g / 10.51oz) and matching keyboard case (252g / 8.9oz). I have small hands, so I find the keyboard fairly comfortable to type on. I remember how excited I was when the first netbook came out a decade ago; my tablet is already three years old but far more powerful than that little 7" netbook. Amazing.

::hugs, hugs::
